West Orange High School Announces Kevin Schmidt as New Head Boys Volleyball Coach

Winter Garden, FL — September 17, 2026 

West Orange High School is proud to announce Kevin Schmidt as the new Head Boys Volleyball Coach.

Schmidt brings nearly a decade of on-court experience and enters his ninth season of coaching with a strong background in both high school and club volleyball. In addition to his new role leading the Warriors boys’ volleyball program, Schmidt serves West Orange High School as an Algebra 1 Teacher and Assistant Cross-Country Coach, making him an integral part of the Warrior community both in and out of the classroom.

Schmidt currently serves as the Head Coach of the Girls Volleyball program at Windermere Prep and has coached at both the high school and club levels throughout his career. “I am thrilled to be stepping in as the head coach for the boys’ volleyball program,” said Schmidt. “I come with nearly a decade of on-court experience, which gave me a deep appreciation for both the defensive and tactical sides of the game. I specialize in working with Liberos and DSs (Defensive Specialists) and will bring a defensive mindset when growing this program.”

As he begins this new chapter at West Orange, Schmidt is focused on establishing a culture of championship-level preparation, discipline, passion, and player development.

“This year marks my ninth season coaching, and I have been fortunate enough to lead teams to three State Championship titles,” Schmidt said. “My goal is to bring that same championship-level energy, discipline, and passion to this program to help our boys reach their highest potential.”

West Orange High School is excited to welcome Coach Schmidt to the helm of the boys’ volleyball program and looks forward to the energy, experience, and championship mindset he will bring to the Warriors.
