Dual enrollment is coursework acceleration program that allows qualified secondary students to begin post-secondary coursework while earning credits toward a high school diploma. Dual enrollment students enroll on a part-time basis (maximum six credit hours) as non-degree seeking students, free of tuition.
The University of Central Florida operates its program in accordance with local articulation agreements. Dual enrollment is available to local school district, private school, and home education secondary students.
Students taking dual enrollment courses must recognize that dual enrollment course grades will become a permanent part of a college transcript and will be factored into future applications to other colleges and universities.
Dual Enrollment helps eligible accelerated high school students access coursework at the University of Florida from their home district. The fully online classes are taught by UF faculty and adhere to the UF academic calendar.
Please use the Dual Enrollment Application Guide for step-by-step instructions on how to access and use UF’s application portal.

There is no single "best" pathway for every student. We encourage students and families to consult with their Counselor and Ms. Maroth, our College and Career Specialist to discuss individual goals and how DE and/or AP classes can help them achieve their academic and post-seccondary goals.
College-level dual enrollment courses are weighted the same as Advanced Placement and Advanced International Certification of Education (AICE) courses when grade point averages are calculated, but the decision between AP and Dual Enrollment is a personal decision based on each student's academic goals and post secondary goals.
