Principal's Message

Principal: Melissa Gordon

It is an honor to introduce myself as the acting principal of West Orange High School.  I have been dedicated to the field of education for more than sixteen years; all with Orange County Public Schools.  I have worked with a variety of grades ranging from K-12th grade.  Most recently I worked as the Senior Administrator for the High School Office and was instrumental in increasing all of the high schools' graduation and career readiness rates.  I have served as an Assistant Principal of Instruction at Boone High School and as the Assistant Principal of Hunter's Creek Elementary School.  I grew up in State College Pennsylvania and attended Shippensburg University for my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education.  I am also a two time University of Central Florida graduate with a Master's Degree in TESOL and a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership.

To the West Orange students, I have already enjoyed meeting some of you and look forward to meeting many more in the near future.  I can assure you that I share in this school community’s commitment to caring for your children each and every day while providing them a world-class learning environment.

Mrs. Melissa Gordon

Vision: Graduate all students with the skills to be life-long learners.

Mission: Personalize education for individual student success.

Extra yearbooks will be ordered, however the cost rises to $90 and there is no guarantee students will get one as all sales will be first come first serve. Contact yearbook sponsor Kimberly Poor with any questions.

Honor Roll certificates for Q2 will be coming home on Thursday. Students who received all A’s and B’s will be able to participate in the Honor Roll celebration during lunch on Friday.
A new and updated copy of report cards will be sent home on Tuesday to all students. These new report cards will reflect a semester exam score for semester courses and will have a re-calculation of the Cumulative GPA.
