Principal: Melissa Gordon

It is an honor to introduce myself as the acting principal of West Orange High School.  I have been dedicated to the field of education for more than sixteen years; all with Orange County Public Schools.  I have worked with a variety of grades ranging from K-12th grade.  Most recently I worked as the Senior Administrator for the High School Office and was instrumental in increasing all of the high schools' graduation and career readiness rates.  I have served as an Assistant Principal of Instruction at Boone High School and as the Assistant Principal of Hunter's Creek Elementary School.  I grew up in State College Pennsylvania and attended Shippensburg University for my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education.  I am also a two time University of Central Florida graduate with a Master's Degree in TESOL and a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership.

To the West Orange students, I have already enjoyed meeting some of you and look forward to meeting many more in the near future.  I can assure you that I share in this school community’s commitment to caring for your children each and every day while providing them a world-class learning environment.

Mrs. Melissa Gordon

Vision: Graduate all students with the skills to be life-long learners.

Juniors, would you like to participate in a FREE summer program at Princeton University? This summer program provides students with leadership training, writing classes, college guidance and college trips, ACT/SAT prep and so much more. Visit LEDAscholars for more information. Act quickly as the deadline to apply is Wednesday December 11th.
West Orange Warriors we have a great opportunity for you to interact with students from Harvard University, an Ivy League college. The Harvard Weekend Academies are a two day, information course that will be coming to our school on February 1 and 2 to teach coding and Pre-Med. The academies are taught by current Harvard University students and will cost $160 per student. This will cover: lunch, a snack, a course book, a shirt, a certificate, and other needed materials. If a student would like to attend, but needs financial aid, they can email to apply and will receive a partial or full financial aid scholarship. This opportunity is open to all high school students so you may invite friends from other high schools to participate.

2019-20 Fan Cards are on sale. Card holders get admission to 12 Regular Season home sporting events for the price of 8. That is a $20 savings. The Warrior Fan Cards are now available for purchase on School Pay.

As a reminder we have just 10 school days until the end of the first semester which means we are halfway through the school year. It is important that students have a strong push to finish with the best grades possible to set themselves up for success in semester 2. Thank you for the commitment to helping our students succeed!
