WEEK OF NOVEMBER 17 - 21, 2025

Important Dates and Updates

Dear West Orange High School students and families,
It has been the privilege of a lifetime to serve as your principal for the past five years. I am deeply grateful for your incredible support, partnership, and commitment, which have made our school a truly special place. As I move on to my next professional challenge, I will forever cherish the memories we have made and the successes we have achieved together. Thank you for everything, and I wish the entire Warrior community the very best; and please keep in touch!
Sincerely, Principal Turner

Connectivity Day

The second Connectivity Day will be on Tuesday, December 16, 2025.
OCPS requires that students must submit a parent consent form in order to participate. Students that do not submit parent permission forms will be placed in holding rooms for the duration of the Connectivity Hour.

Forms will be sent home the week of December 1st. Forms will also be shared digitally for print on Parent Square. Forms must be submitted to your student's 4th period teacher by Friday, December 12, 2025. Students who do not have a 4th period can submit their forms to Room 536 to Mrs. Light or Mrs. Mottin.

Connectivity Day is a time for all students to find connection and engagement at our school. This day will include interest activity sessions, service projects, music, holiday decorations, bounce house courses, food trucks, and more.

Stay tuned for more information on Parent Square and Canvas for students.

PERFORMING ARTS

Theatre

Congratulations to our Theatre Program

On November 7th and 8th, the Theatre department proudly represented our school at the Florida Theatre Conference—an esteemed event that brings together schools from across the state for one-act play competitions, college auditions, workshops, and more.

West Orange Theatre was awarded Outstanding Production, one of only two top honors given statewide. This marks our first win in eleven years—a tremendous achievement and a testament to the dedication and talent of our students.

In addition to this prestigious title:
  • JT Klinker (Junior) was named to the All-Star Cast.
  • Aiden Gjurich (Senior, Lighting) and Nolan Chillinsky (Senior, Set Design) received All-Star Crew honors.
  • Emma Myerson (Junior) earned the title of Outstanding Lead Performer, securing an individual state title.

Congratulations to the students and Ms. Whitman for their hard work, creativity, and perseverance. Theatre is more than performance—it cultivates discipline, collaboration, time management, and critical thinking. These are skills that help students thrive not only on stage but also in your classrooms and beyond.
