Friday, May 1st is Principal Appreciation Day.

Teacher Appreciation Week - May 4 - 8

Yearbook Sales and Distribution

Yearbooks will be distributed on May 11 in Room 216.
Students must have their ID to pick up.
There is a limited number of yearbooks left at yearbookforever.com.

Laptops and Library Books

Senior laptops must be turned in no later than May 12th.
Exceptions are made for those seniors still testing after this date.

Library books and textbooks are due no later than May 12th.

YOU MAY START BRINGING IN ALL ITEMS WHEN YOU NO LONGER REQUIRE THEM FOR YOUR CLASSES.
 
Please note that if you receive an email informing you of fines due, these will need to be paid by May 8th if you will be paying by School Cash.
 
Checks and cash may be accepted by seeing Ms. Wallner in the Media Center.

 

CAP AND GOWN DISTRIBUTION AND SENIOR CLEARANCE

Seniors that have not purchased their cap and gown or cords will have the opportunity to do so on Friday, May 8th. Cash Only:
Cap and Gown = $69.00
Cords = $7.00 each

Spring Orchestra Concert

The Spring Orchestra Concert is Wednesday, May 6th at 6pm.

We will feature the Concert, Intermezzo and Symphony Orchestras performing Music from the Movies!

 

Spring Chorus Concert

The Spring Chorus Concert is on May 8th at 6:00 PM in the auditorium.

Tickets will be available for purchase on teach tix as the event gets closer.

Weekend SAT and ACT Testing at WOHS

Important Things to Note:
•    Make sure you bring a physical photo ID. You cannot test without one. Pictures of an ID are not accepted.
•    These are the dates being offered at West Orange. Other schools may have different dates.
•    You must register online through the testing websites.
•    For ACT, West Orange only offers the paper version of the test. You would need to register for a different location if you want to take the digital version.
•    For SAT, complete the pre-test setup on Bluebook before arriving for testing. You can only access the test ticket if you have done this. You cannot check in for testing without your test ticket.
•    For SAT, please have your College Board login memorized. You will need this to login to Bluebook on test day.

Kickoff to Summer Success for Multilingual Families

We are excited to invite you to participate in our upcoming family event, Kickoff to Summer Success!, taking place on Thursday, May 14, from 5:30–7:00 PM at Horizon High School. Families from the West Community Area schools are invited to attend.

This event is designed to support families and students as they prepare for the summer and the upcoming school year.

The focus of the event includes:

  • Emphasizing the importance of consistent school attendance
  • Providing strategies and resources to prevent summer learning loss
  • Helping students feel prepared and confident to begin the next school year

There will also be targeted information for families of students in middle and high school, including:

  • Graduation credit requirements
  • State and district testing expectations
  • Academic, social, and organizational expectations at the high school level

Brainfuse offers free online tutoring through the Orange County Library System to ALL students in Orange County Public Schools.

FREE live tutors are available every day from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Using Brainfuse, students can connect with a qualified tutor for expert help in a variety of subjects.

Financial Aid Fridays

Seniors can come to the CCC during 6th & 7th period (with a pass) to get help with their FAFSA , Florida Financial Aid, and scholarship applications! No appointment is needed!

**All SENIORS must notify Student Services of their FAFSA application status in XELLO**
  • The FAFSA is a required SENIOR CLEARANCE Checklist item.
  • Complete your FAFSA if recommended by the college or trade/tech school you are applying to, or opt out.

  • Report Your FAFSA Status
  • Open Xello through Launchpad
  • Click on "Show all tasks" under the "To-do List" section on the left hand side of the page. 
  • Scroll down to the "Add FAFSA Application Details," click on "Add details" 
  • Locate the "FAFSA and State applications" section, click on "Add details," and complete the details.
  • Please read the important information below about the FAFSA.

Dartmouth Bound Program

The Dartmouth Bound Program provides an opportunity for students to visit Hanover, N.H. during one of two possible session dates: July 19-22 or August 2-5. Dartmouth College will cover travel expenses, housing, and meals for all participants.
The program is designed to provide rising seniors with:
  • An in-depth introduction to the enduring value of a liberal arts education through Dartmouth’s curriculum and faculty
  • An opportunity to stay in Dartmouth’s residence halls and connect with current student mentors
  • Engaging workshops led by Dartmouth’s admissions and financial aid officers
  • A series of panels led by current Dartmouth students

Monclaire State University - Pre-College Summer Programs

Montclais State University is currently enrolling for the 2026 Pre-College Summer Programs with 22 dynamic course options—an expanded selection designed to cater to every student interest and aspiration. Students interested in exploring their academic passions, experiencing college-level learning, and engaging with their campus community are encouraged to apply. 
Who Can Apply: High school students currently in grades 9-11  
Application Requirements: Students must submit an academic transcript and a personal statement with the online application.
