Textbooks

Students should have returned all text books to the Media Center at this time. This includes all books that were not returned due to remaining off campus as a LaunchEd student. Students will be receiving emails every two weeks reminding them of books checked out or books that have been marked as lost.  Any fines indicated on these emails will be removed once the books are returned. If a student is unable to locate the book it will be marked as lost and a fine will be added to the student's account.

Students can also check destiny.ocps.net and log in to their account to check for missing textbooks.

OBLIGATIONS

Textbook obligation lists are maintained by the media center. All textbook obligations must be cleared each school year and upon withdrawing from West Orange High School.

A receipt will be issued for any payments made.

Students must be clear of all obligations before they will be allowed to purchase parking permits, yearbooks, tickets to special events, participation in graduation ceremonies, etc.

According to Florida Statute, Chapter 1006.42 and Chapter 1006.28

“Each parent of a student is liable for any loss or destruction of, or unnecessary damage to, the instructional materials or for failure of the student to return the instructional materials, and shall pay for such loss, destruction, or unnecessary damage as provided by law.”

“The failure to collect such sum by the principal may result in the suspension of the student from participation in extracurricular activities…”
